Who we are
Who we are

StartupCollect is a members-only collection of negotiated software offers and preferred hotel rates for founders.

This policy is issued by StartupCollect, a business operated from Florida, United States. In this policy, “StartupCollect”, “we” and “us” mean that business.
It covers this website and the StartupCollect member directory.
Last updated 3 November 2026.
What we collect
What we collect

Three kinds of information: what you give us, what is recorded automatically, and what your sign-in provider shares.

What you give us: your name and email address when you write to us, and anything else you choose to enter — phone number, company, website, the kind of enquiry, and your message. The same applies to newsletter sign-ups and membership applications.
Recorded automatically: like most websites, our hosting providers log technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view.
From your sign-in provider: when you sign in to the member directory with Google, Microsoft or Apple, that provider shares your name and email address with us.
We do not collect payment details on this site.
How we use it
How we use it

To answer you and to run the membership.

To reply to your enquiry.
To consider and manage membership applications.
To send you the newsletter or other updates you asked for.
To keep the site and the directory secure and working.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who handles it
Who handles it

A small number of providers process information for us, and only to provide their service.

Webflow hosts this website and stores submissions from its forms.
Base44 hosts the member directory, and Airtable holds its partner and property records.
Google, Microsoft and Apple handle sign-in to the directory, if you choose one of them.
Our email provider handles messages you send us.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to a successor if the business is ever sold or merged.
Where it is stored
Where it is stored

Our providers are based in the United States.

Information you send us is stored and processed in the United States, and may be handled in other countries where our providers operate.
Where your country’s law requires safeguards for these transfers, we rely on those our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
How long we keep it

Long enough to do the thing you contacted us about, and no longer than we need.

Enquiries: kept while we are in contact with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up the conversation.
Membership applications that do not proceed: kept for a reasonable period in case you apply again.
Member accounts: kept for as long as the membership is open, and for a period afterwards for our records.
Newsletter sign-ups: kept until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us to delete any of it sooner.
Security
Security

We take reasonable measures to protect what you send us.

This site and the member directory are served over an encrypted connection, and access to the accounts behind them is limited and protected by two-factor authentication.
No website can promise perfect security, and we do not. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will tell you and any regulator the law requires us to notify.
Your rights
Your rights

Write to us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.

Anyone, anywhere: email derek@startupcollect.com or ana@startupcollect.com to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Newsletter emails also carry an unsubscribe link.
California residents have rights under the CCPA to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted or corrected, and not to be treated differently for asking. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.
UK and EU residents have rights under the UK and EU GDPR to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of their information, and to complain to their data protection authority. We handle enquiries on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to you, and send marketing only with consent.
We will not charge you for any of this, and we will answer within the time your law allows.
Children, cookies and other sites
Children, cookies and other sites

StartupCollect is for founders and business owners, and is not intended for anyone under 18.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Cookies: our hosting providers set a small number of cookies that this website and the member directory need in order to work, including keeping you signed in.
This site links to other companies’ websites, including those of our partners. Once you follow a link, that company’s own privacy policy applies, not ours.
